When Mark and Jas Got Bonded for Life…
by Rin on Jan.23, 2010, under iamrin
I gotta hand it over to Mark and Jas, they did a great job pulling off their wedding today. It was really a very inspiring experience and I wish I had the money … err… the readiness to tie the knot as splendid as this one.
Mark and Jas had a well executed wedding. I can safely say that it was almost perfect (since nothing is really perfect ehehe), and it was all worth it. We had a fun time with old friends especially while eating good food. Though I really didn’t like the bland taste of the catering service’s Carbonara. But the lechon de leche was swabe, it got me dizzy but it was swabe. Also, the desert section kicked ass, I was able to make my own Banana Split ala Jologs.
Overall the wedding was great, but there were 2 names that got my attention:
Threelogy Video
I was really amazed at how quick they were able to edit an HD wedding video in a span of like, an hour or so? (basing on the footage taken on the exact same day.) When I got home I took a quick glance at the site and got surprised to see a whopping Php120,000 rate on a 25 minute HD video coverage with 3 high end Sony HD camcorders! It was quite expensive but judging from the quality of their output… it was worth it and damn! they are good! check them out, click this link
I have an HD camcorder myself, a Sony HDR-CX100 and I was amazed on how good their video turned out. So now, I have some new items listed on my to-do list:
1. Study how they manage to edit huge HD videos so freaking easy! When I try it on my Clio2(my 2.66 core 2 duo PC with 4gb memory and 256mb videocard), it was a bit slow to process previews and sometimes playback was very chappy. I was able to fix it issues using Pinnacle Studio 11 but still, I doubt that I could edit THAT fast…
2. Research on how I can maximize my HD cam to full potential.
3. Do some market research on how profitable video coverage/editing services are. Damn! these guys are so good, I want to try to do what they do… which basically is the reason why I bought my camcorder.
Pose N’ Print
I find their business innovative, like most Videoke’s nowadays that are available for rent, these guys turned their improvised high end digital photo booth (not to mention with 2 high quality printers for faster photo printing) into something really interesting. Whats good is that, the well assisted service is good for unlimited photo prints for all guests! with online upload of photos taken. Mark and Jas probably took the 4 hour photo booth service priced at Php 14,500, which, in my opinion, is another well invested alternative for wedding souvenirs.
So far, this is one of the best weddings I’ve attended to. Thank you so much Mark and Jas for inviting me, though sadly Richmon wasn’t able to attend, but it was a blast nonetheless. Best wishes to you both and happy honeymooning. eheh. Humayo kayo at magparami!

I took a visit at my old DeviantART account this morning and found out that it was supposed to be my 6th year today. January 7, 2010. sheesh! and my last loggin was almost 5 YEARS AGO! damn… 5 years….
I miss the old days of Deviant ART where you get to post your artworks and immediately someone from somewhere would hit you a comment. Could be a random guy seeing random posts of random people or someone having you on their watch list. It was in fact, very rewarding to see someone appreciate your work and even “fav”s it to display on their page. Some would also provide you constructive criticism and tell you flat out where you’ve gone wrong. It was really a very inspiring community, below is a copy of my stat (sadly I was inactive for 5 years).

Focus
by Rin on Nov.21, 2009, under Pepper, iamrin
Things go bad when you lose focus…
Pepper broke a tear again while we were having lunch this afternoon. Something I always feel bad to witness… “I feel so stupid, why do I always make those silly mistakes? It is as if I do not have common sense..” she said.
The thing is, my girl has always been working hard to cope up with work. The long hours of serving booze on a cigarette smoke infested bar, dealing with lonely horny foreigners who always fall prey to hungry gold digging prostitutes forcing their way in the bar, the insecure colleagues, the boring customers and of course the ridiculous overtimes… and despite the hardwork, she would always get scolded for repeating mistakes. Although there isn’t any problem with the staff where in fact she’s friends with, she would always get called to tell her she’s losing FOCUS… I do think she’s on the right track though, it just simply means she’s starting to get mature in the real adult world.
Her problem is a typical work issue for me. I myself, had encountered a lot of similar scenarios especially when I started to stay long hours and even DAYS! at the office. Stress and pressure makes you lose focus and therefore let you commit further mistakes. mistakes that would require you to work on which actually leaves you to do more work than you should actually do. and therefore becoming more stressed and more mistakes will follow. and before you know it… it would become a disaster…
I never mind the problem, since for me its common. What I worry is the fact that my girl is losing confidence.. I can feel her depression.. and if there is one thing that makes me feed bad the most, is to see tears in her eyes.
5 Signs to Know If Your Boss Tries to Motivate You in Reverse Psychology
by Rin on Sep.02, 2009, under iamrin

Cant help but post another random blog tonight… gotta keep myself awake! there’s still a lot of work to be done! tsktsk. but anyways, speaking of work. I realized something odd today at a quick meeting we had with my boss. He’s actually a master of Reverse Psychology!
Reverse psychology is a persuasion technique involving the false advocacy of a belief or behavior contrary to the belief or behavior which is actually being advocated. This technique relies on the psychological phenomenon ofreactance , in which a person has a negative emotional response in reaction to being persuaded, and thus chooses the option which is being advocated against. – Wikipedia.com
among the 5 signs I remember since my employment is that, when we are in a meeting and he wants something done quick. Boss would…
1. mock my work, and praise the-person-who I-couldn’t-get-along-with in front of me.
2. inform me of an unfortunate possibility of travelling for a business trip outside the country with the-person-who I-couldn’t-get-along-with…
3. call me “Champion” in front of the-person-who I-couldn’t-get-along-with.
4. tell other people in secret that he’s disappointed with my work and make sure I get the message directly from the-person-who I-couldn’t-get-along-with…
5. try to come up with a way to get me constantly working togething with the-person-who I-couldn’t-get-along-with
… oh well… some random blog this is.
“BER” Months and Hair Rants!
by Rin on Aug.31, 2009, under iamrin

Hair Ball
Ah yes! its exactly 12:00 am of September 1 as I am jotting this blog out. “BER” MONTHS ARE FINALLY HERE WOOHOO!!!
So what if “Ber” months has started you say? not much in particular…. its just that the countdown has started and in 4 months time, this year of bad luck would soon come to an end! yep, I had a bad year. Hopefully this coming year would turn the tides.
Whats great though is that cold weather is finally approaching, exciting isn’t it? Soon, I wouldn’t worry too much of my hair suffocating me through the heat while commuting to work… yep, i still got that long hair. Its been 3 years since my last haircut and everybody’s asking me… “ba’t ka ba kase nagpapahaba ng buhok!?” well, then it’s time that you get an answer… so here goes:
The reason why I am growing my hair long is because… i like to… i got a couple of special reasons but I guess I can just put it this way, my hair is some sort of a reminder for me to always finish what I’ve started. I had sworn an oath to grow my hair for 5 years and then take a picture with it… probably naked! hehe. Some weird oath but I’ve always intended to accomplish it. Pepper also likes my hair long so… there ya go! You may also think of me as a guy so lazy he can’t even get the time to have a haircut… hehe
Anyways, its great to have September up. In 4 days, my mom would be celebrating her 53rd birthday I would have to prepare for a lot of cooking by then. I simply feel this last quarter would be better that I expect it to be, since I am starting to feel like this year has given me so muck bad luck already.
It also feels great having been able to blog again. As you can see, I had this site up again for that exact purpose. I may also post this on my Multiply blog soon but I guess it would rather stay here first. got lots of things to blog about, but I needed a jump start so I decided to post a blog with a random idea. I basically blogged what came across my mind when I thought about posting. and well… enough talk. It’s great to be back blogging.
Synchronizing Blogs
by Rin on Aug.27, 2009, under Tutorials
I’ve been synchronizing blogs all night, and after a sudden feel of pain on the neck. I figured, WHADDAHELL AM I DOING THIS FOR!?
Anyways I figured out that Multiply Blogs are the hardest to export, I sometimes ended up copy pasting the whole post and edit the “published on” option to the right to get the Multiply blog to this blog.
Live Journal to Wordpress
Probably the easiest transfer I did. here’s a brief outline of the steps:
1. log in to your wordpress blog.
2. Go to Tools > Import (at least on version 2.8.4)
3. Select Live Journal on the options provided
4. Enter your Live Journal Username and Password
5. Done
Blogger to Wordpress
1. log in to your wordpress blog.
2. Go to Tools > Import (at least on version 2.8.4)
3. Select Blogger
4. Click on “Authorize” to bring you to Google page.
5. Click on Grant access to have google allow wordpress to access your Blogger account.
6. On wordpress once again, select from the list the blog you want to import.
7. You might want to set authors when finished.
8. Done.
Multiply to Wordpress
1. Visit your page
2. on the right side bar, look for the “RSS feed” link. Right click on it then select “save link as”
3. save the rss feed as an rss file (ex. multiplyblog.rss)
4. log in to your wordpress blog.
5. Go to Tools > Import (at least on version 2.8.4)
6. Select RSS
7. browse for your rss feed then click “upload file and import”
8. Sadly, multiply only allows up to 25 posts to be exported so your import would be limited and most of the time the posts are summarized…. tsktsktsk.
9. Check on your exported blogs manually on multiply and copy the entire contents then paste on Wordpress (this could be the only way up to this moment. if you got a better idea, please do share).
10. yeah… done.
It would be up to you if you want to do the same thing on all your posts past the 25 posts allowed on the rss feed extraction.
I don’t think its necessary to import my other blogs here, after all, I got all the important stuff right here. If I had to import blogs from Tweeter, Friendster Blog and Xanga. I would simply update this post.
This stuff is tiring!!!
eheh.
My Immortal Cellphone
by Rin on Jul.10, 2008, under iamrin
I nearly lost my precious cellphone this week… luckily, there are still some kindness and honesty left among taxi drivers around makati…
Yep, I dropped my cellphone on a taxi! when we arrived at the office, I noticed that I could find my cellphone. kimps then tried to call my number to check if I’ve just dropped it somewhere at the office, when surprisingly, a person answered. the guy told kimps that he got the cellphone. The line got cut and it was my turn to call. The driver answered and we had a conversation, he promised that he would return the cellphone but its just that he had a passenger already on board and are on their way to shangrila.
I had doubts that my cellphone would not be returned. I thought of all the wonderful things that happened with me using that cellphone… I loved that phone…
minutes later, after waiting at the entrance of our office building, the taxi arrived. The driver went back WITH a passenger on board and gave me the cellphone i dropped. then I gave him a 200 peso cash reward. (cheap huh? ehehe). the driver was in a hurry since he got a non-filipino passenger, great effort.
I think of a few reason’s though why he returned it despite the fact that he could just ignore my call and keep my phone for himself…
1. he was impressing the foreigner
2. he was expecting a reward (or atleast larger than what I gave.. ehe)
3. he don’t like a crappy old nokia2310 phone…eheh. or
4. he’s just kind and honest.
At any rate, the guy’s an angel. Stuff on my cellphone are vital to me, plus the phone and I had been through a lot! it survived falling on a moving jeepney, got broken when I decided to have it open-line, torture tested with continuous spinning habbit. eheh. and excessive smart sms’s.. but thank God its back… I saved the taxi’s plate number, but I accidentally deleted it when I did a cp housecleaning.. eheh.
oh well, Thanks to you manong driver. you changed my bad impression of taxi drivers… mabuhay ka! ehe.
