My sister had slept during her board exams for nursing… she answered randomly 200 questions with the 30 minutes that was left as she wakes up… at first I thought of it as a joke. but I was wrong.

This morning we had an argument, yes I understand that she had pushed herself to the limits reviewing to the very end. but you really wont ever know what will happen even if you’re dead sure you have prepared for something to the tiniest detail. There is no one to blame, yes, but I do think that I have all the right in the world to get disappointed!

Rin: “so kelan yung results?”
Sis: “September pa…”
Rin: “Ayun, mag hanap ka na ng work habang naghihintay ka! ngaun na!”
Sis: “uu maghahanap talaga kme, pahinga lang ako 1 week?”
Rin: “maghanap ka na! sayang oras!”
Sis: “pagpahingahin mo naman ako noh!”
Rin: “pahinga!? e natulog ka lang naman!”

(and then she broke down and cried…)

Sis: ” wag mo naman ako i-pressure oh, sobrang disappointed na nga rin ako sa sarili ko eh…”
Rin: “pressure? e kung magpalit kaya tayo ng pressure? …. *blah blah blah… kaboom!!!*”

And so, my day was ruined.

I then just left the house with the line: “umayos ka, alagaan mo nanay mo jan!”

It took me a great deal of effort too! its not just HER exerting all the hard work and sacrifices.. I had my fair share of pressure myself. And it frustrates me the most that all she could think about is her hardships. I may be jumping into conclusions but thats just how I feel right now.

Hopefully, somebody could prove me wrong. I don’t care if she failed, she can take another exam on December for all I care. I just don’t like the impression of being the bad guy here. I AM disappointed! but I do not pressure people…

Friday
It was supposedly OUR day, the 23rd… this influenza got me thursday night and I was hoping it be gone by weekend and yet… we’d both been sick. I felt weaker and weaker as I finish work, and headed for snooze-time as fast as I could. my head was heavy, as I left my house mates and went to the condo alone. I fixed myself, jumped to bed and then She called…

Just Wednesday we agreed not to see each other on OUR day for some odd reason. She’s been hearing the old maids say stuff about me that offends her… whatever that is, she doesn’t want to hear something like it again. So she thought that not seeing each other for awhile would shut the old maids’ mouths. A fitting sacrifice to protect my interest she says… romantic, yes… and well… very touching.I’ve spend my sick Friday night in bed early, talking to my kittie on the phone till sleep gets us. And then, OUR day ended simple yet memorable.

SATURDAY
Waking up in the morning with a smile on my face was very rewarding. My kittie asked to pick me up at the condo and went back home at Novaliches together since I was sick and she was worried. I had the biggest smile in the world that morning. She was as sick as me and yet she offered to pick me upon the other side of the world just to make sure I’ll be fine… sweet.

“Basta ha, wag ka na pasaway jan, kain ka na breakfast tapos inom ka gamot, tulog ka saglit tapos gising ka ulit para mag lunch. tapos hintayin mo ko ha… punta ko jan. pagaling ka mahal ko, I love you..”

She arrived about 4pm. I was already packed up and ready to go home. When she arrived, we had chitchats and small talks with the house mates and Marv’s new guest. If i can remember it right, I think his name was Jarvin. We spent time with the house mates and played tekken 5 until night was about to fall. Marlon payed a visit so I introduced him to my kittie princess. We went home together after eating dinner at Jollibee and went past SM Fairview, She greeted her French Baker friends and then we head home.

At home we spent a few more time before she left. She had a sneak peak on how my mom works my Vintuza (if the spelling is correct.) and then rode a trike and went home.

SUNDAY
Sunday afternoon came and she was ready for a night swimming reunion with her high school friends. She went to my place and we saw each other again for a few more minutes then we set off, She to her reunion and me to the condo.  We shopped for outing essentials first at liza’s before parting ways… and then a few minutes later… I missed her so much…

At this rate, I’m really thankful to have such a thoughtful girlfriend. efforts like these melts my heart real fast. It was indeed a touching weekend for me and She was definitely my best blessing.

A Call for Change Flash Movie

I was cleaning up my files when I noticed this flash movie on my flash projects folder… shit, I miss my college days. I’ve only spent 1 semester in college but it had been a blast.The flash video above is played at the background, operated by Michelle Ostan, and Narrated by “Babaylan”. Up front is where me, Slash and Gameng play the guitar singing “Banal na Aso” by Yano tweaking the lyrics up a bit. It’s a call for change approach with a little twist. An optional performance that I suggested our prof to give a chance for low graders to pass the subject. I was credited by the prof since I no longer need an adjustment but the effort led the entire group to pass the subject… I had been a hero… (at least I think I did) …and it felt good.

10. Ecopark Trip with Friends
We started the year with a picnic trip at The Ecopark Fairview QC. this was also the first time I saw Van cry! (naligaw! tsktsk) bwehehe. The fun continues as Me, Jill, Van, Little Foot, her nephew and Gijeno1 ventures the crowded mall of Trinoma and wasted money at Timezone! eheh. The fun didn’t last though. before we left, I heard a heartbreaking news from Van…

9. Baby Ezra Christening to Jeff’s Birthday Party
Ice’s little angel Ezra got baptized. Kittie was the only Gijena absent since she got… (drum roll) BULUTONG!!!! BWEHEHEEHE. Marimar, Jamaimahhh and I continued the fun at SM Fairview and helped Jamaimahhh improve her tekken skills! after so… I met up with Jill and the gang again to attend Jeff’s Birthday… we went home wasted. at least I got a chance to meet new friends.

8. Easter Coaster LB Bistro Gig
A memorable trip to Los Banos Laguna for a Gig at LB Bistro with Idol bands Triangle Trauma, Jeff Pagaduan and Redfills. The Band then settled the night over at Marimar’s Boyfriend’s place at Sta. Cruz Laguna. It has been a fun gig, though Jill got grounded as she went back home. she even had her buko pie (pasalubong) thrown at her face! (pasalubong sa muka! bwehehe).

7. Jumong’s Birthday Extravaganza
“Great move… great beer..” Bwehehe. Jumong’s birthday was indeed a blast since we got to hang out with the office’s marketing team (the chikas). Plus, we got to figure out whose “tupperware” or not. bwehehe. the boys also got “happier” after the party. whoohoo!!!

6. Cebu Trip
I got part of the marketing team’s business trip to Cebu. got lotsa firsts on that trip, first flight via PAL, first visit in Cebu, first buffet breakfast lunch and dinner, first time to see the boss in action (syet! idol!!!), nice trip.. I also bought for me and my kittie an authentic cebuano fine-crafted acoustic guitar! whoohoo! top notch!

5. Dev Team Boys Night Out
It was Kokik’s Birthday and a semi despedida party for his flight to who-knows-where. ehehe. Food was treated at the office to fill our crazy tummies. Next, we drank booze at gilligan’s glorieta to prep ourselves for the main event. Next, we head off to a videoke riot in music 21 jupiter st. Next, we got spent. ehehe. we haven’t even got to the main event… tsktsk. theres always a next time though. Still, it was the best dev team boys bonding to date.

4. Incubus!!!
Watched the Incubus concert at Araneta Cubao with friends. It was one helluva great time! shit, I wish Red Hot Chili Peppers would be next.

3. Easter Coaster’s one helluva gig at 77 Bar Kamuning
Easter Coaster won 2nd place at Ateneo ISO’s Onemic competition for the benefit of Bantay Dagat… Long live the fishes! we met new friends and brother bands there like Summer Romance( Go Violin! Go Abi!! woot woot! ), Plugpul ( brother band! ), and G Conquest ( Go Franciaaaaahhhh!!!).

2. Jenny’s Graduation! whoohoo!!!!
Finally my sister graduated the nursing course… shit. I thought the tuition fee nightmares would never end… My sister’s diploma was indeed the best trophy in the world for me… hopefully she passes the board exams though! bwehehehe. Gogogo!

1. Happiest Easter Ever!
Friends… OK. Bestfriend… OK. Siblings… OK. Mom…  OK. Old-fashioned-old-maid-aunts-who’s-too-scared-for-their-niece-to-have-a-boyfriend… OK. All hindrances and Impediments were squashed! and after an almost-neverending struggle, we finally got all the blessings we need…. Kittie and I are now engaged…. JOKE! We just got official… and it was the happiest easter ever!

Oh well… shit. all the nicest things happened in March… the luckiest month ever. I just wish that I was the one who won the 245 Million Peso Lotto Jackpot to maximize that luck… eheh.

Work has really been so busy lately I couldn’t even get myself to blog… I wanted to post at least a one-liner but surprisingly though, I ended up writing this poem. so gay huh? bwehehe. this was written in 30 mins.

People say I complicate things too much. Well, isn’t the world complicated? you look for something and do whatever it takes to find it. And when you get it, its still not enough. nothing is ever enough. syit.

One of the reasons why I left my previous job was the lack of authority. I was looking for respect and appreciation for my hardwork. Though I was admitedly not perfect to fit their standards of a qualified manager (as they put it), I worked my ass off overtime because I knew I was needed. I never had that authority, since I was handling myself as my own team, and my team sucks, eheh. I felt like a loner, and my officemates were my cheering squad backing me up.

Now, I have my own REAL team. They look up to me with respect and appreciate what I do (even if I am overdoing it). eheh. I’m really am thankful to have such opportunity to have great people appreciate what I do. My current team is the best I had (since it was the first. eheh.) I only have 1 teammate that I find hard to manage… myself. eheh. But still, a lot of work needs to be done with people management.

Its never an easy task handling people. A truck load of patience is not enough. You need to act, set an example, be THE MAN and say the right words at the right time, ALL THE TIME. Its like acting as a parent ordering chores to a rebelious teenage son or daughter, if you piss them off, they leave home. It is what I find the hardest to deal with, handling emotions, not only yours but the whole team’s (especially when you’re friends with THE Team). You have shortcomings, but your team will find it hard to realize that. They have moodswings too. When stressed, they blame you. When they become bored and don’t have much to do, they blame you. when the boss gets disappointed with the whole team, THEY ALL BLAME YOU. Its a burden actually, the responsiblity to get the job done with stress and your team’s rants behind your back.

Some people needs to understand that at the office, you have to set friendship aside and work professionally.

1. When your manager asks you something, you don’t answer like, “tinatamad ako e, bukas nalang!” Have you ever consider saying that to your boss? and technically, they are indeed, your boss!

2. You do not choose managers, managers choose you. You can’t say that you need a better manager because your manager lacks this and that… If you have problems with your manager, tell it to the hr, write a letter or something. they will be the ones to decide, but in the meantime.. DO YOUR JOB!.

3. You don’t decide on your own. You shouldn’t say, “I know this better than my manager does, Its for our own good, I’ll act now without telling my manager because im out of time…” even if you think you know better, your manager deserves the right to comment.

4. You do not bypass! you shouldn’t go out saying something like, “You’re not techy enough to understand what I am saying, I will speak directly to my teammates and bypass you.” your manager has all the right to know anything and everything that you do.

5. “EXPLAIN BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN” as my idol Joey de Leon puts it, your mistakes are best explained before squeeling about the shortcomings, impediments and limitations. you dont go saying, “how can I program well when I dont have a pc!?” ehehe. resourcefulness is part of your responsibility, If you cant work well because of something, do not whine, act on it. tell it to the authorities so they can act on it as well.

Dealing with myself is also a pain in the ass, punctuality has always been a problem with me. I’m lucky my company doesn’t take it against me. Its the one thing that inspires me to work past my limitations and even my biological clock. eheh.

Becoming a manager is such hard work that sometimes demoralizes you. People should understand that we all have a lot on our hands but the managers are on the front line. They say or do things that sometimes jeopardizes friendship but it’s only what you call PROFESSIONALISM. and that doesn’t make them “PETS” of the company.

Well, it was a really blessed 2007 for me, I had my share of ups and downs, but in the end, I got everything that I really wanted and more. God helped me through a lot this year. Hopefully the coming year would be more prosperous…

JANUARY

- Easter coaster was born. Me and Kittie formed an acoustic band with JK exclusively for a Conspiracy Garden gig for white ink productions…
- Farewell Asura Nina. Nina had a sendoff party to leave the country for Canada…

FEBRUARY

- First Easter Coaster gig at Conspiracy Garden. with Kittie and JK coming from school, Easter Coaster performed well on stage for the first time on an acoustic cover set with great indie bands Triangle Trauma, 5th Sister and Jeff Pagaduan

MARCH

- Kittie’s feasib. I helped kittie on her almost-never-ending feasibility study. of a cake stall.
- Easter coaster welcomes Silverchair and Tony. Yeah, EC got a lead guitarist and percussionist.
- Ryan was on a leash. Ryan took a whole night attempt to leave home on a rebellious act. eheh. I successfully convinced him to go back home…

APRIL

- The Banana Leaf incident. Kittie spent her birthday at work. I had a surprise gift ready and was waiting to surprise her outside “D Block” I still dont know how it happened, but she got past me and head home alone. sad to say… my stupid plan for a birthday surprise got ruined. (tsktsk. bat kase kelangan pa mag work pag birthday. ehehe.)

MAY

- Kittie was out… pakking issues.
- Putipot I”s Company Outing. Yep the fun was monumental, the “TEAM” headed to Putipot Island at Sunbloom Resort, Iba, Zambales.
- Casimiro, Novaliches welcomes Neutral Caliber. The gig somewhat caused the band to lose faith in one another… we sucked!
- Kittie’s replacement. Easter Coaster’s first gig with Silverchair and Tony… and the new vocalist Jill!
- Independence. I moved my family to Novaliches and led a peaceful life.

JUNE

- I”s blackout incident. Sparkplug… yeap it was a definite turning point.
- Ungaz and I living together. Me and Ungaz rented with Hikari, Nic, Ann and Renee an apartment in Guadalupe.
- My day. My birthday sucks this year. eheh.
- Invictuz session. sessioned for Invictuz at Parang Paranaque gig… Black Sabbath Rules!

JULY

- Lily resigns. Some scary shit, thank god her projects was not turned over to me… eheh. lily was like I”s Jose Rizal… Umbrella, Batgirl and Dj Tummy was welcomed to the I”s “TEAM”.
- Calibra’s Valenzuela adventure at Hellacious bar. it sucked…

AUGUST

- Calibra gig at purple haze with 18th issue and The Chongkees. a memmorable gig with some of the best funk bands in manila… there had been a fight with Chongkees and 18th issue’s guitarists that night but still, it was a good gig. eheh.
- Guest church singer. Capitana sang a Corrs song on a Conspiracy Garden gig with Easter Coaster
– Invictuz birthday gig. happy chogchog Vince and the fat lady. eheh.

SEPTEMBER

- Graphika Manila 2007. yea… the eye opener. eheh
- I friggin resign. Passed my resignation due to unresolved issues and tried my luck applying for a better job on different IT company.
- Salinlahi(salinlaway) was born. Onin goes to Singapore and tupe called it quits so the band was dead. eheh. Vince the prince took the cousins Gie and Allen and we formed Salinlahi.
- Got a new job at Ipay. Ipay hired me as a true blue, genuine, no conditions, no compromise, no promises, no false hopes Project Manager.
- Neutral Caliber and Calibra was disbanded. tsktsk.

OCTOBER

- The band Gijena was reunited. Geelene, Jamai, May and Aiza perfomed again as Gijena at Fairview only without Kittie…
- The chugi incident. Yep, some stupid misunderstanding could really get somebody fired…
- We moved out of Guadalupe Bliss. Hair issues, irresponsibility issues, bills popping from everywhere… if you can’t leave with it, might as well move out. and so we did.
- Glorietta goes kaboom! Clars and Meobears… thats a close one. tsktsk


NOVEMBER

- Company outing at Sabangan Batangas. yeabah! super fun outing with my new “TEAM”
- I”s reunion. Old and new I”sers met up for a reunion of some sort sponsored by the father of logically senseless arguements, the great Inkong. eheh.
- A confession was made. I really couldn’t tell if its a shocker, but it was fulfilling.
- Tanks near the office? Trillanes is such a sucker!

DECEMBER

- Xmas Party. Ipay and R+ xmas chorva. We performed 2 sets of showband goodness and 80’s pinoy rock! eheh.
- Alakpah Band was formed. Marlon, Atemimi, Me, Marvyn, Magz’ James and Ms Ethel was indeed, a show band. eheh.
- Jill’s walang-tulugan-birthday-Deathnote-marathon-kainang-malufet party. haiz.
- Kittie’s Back! missed her to death, but thank God shes back…

The coming year would be a tough one. I could barely predict whats gonna happen… and well, I dont give a sharks fin siomai about it. just keep the challenges coming! I’m madderpakking ready for 2008!

Oyash, T’was a really long weekend indeed. Tsktsk…but it was fun. only tiring though.

Friday Night Movie and TimeZoning! | Approx. 8:00pm
After work, I went out with friends and ate dinner at Shelby’s. Me, Clars, DJ Tummy, Umbrella, Komiks, Navarro and Bubbles finished dinner fast since Inkong was waiting at Glorietta alone. eheh. We then arrived at Glorietta and Bubbles detatched from the group to catch up with mrt and went home. I felt a bit guilty having left the cd she requested me to burn ASIN songs with. I recommended her to Izza as Gijena’s new keyboardist so she needed mp3’s of asin to practice… oh well… (bawi next time.. eheh.)

We catched up with Inkong and quickly bought the tickets for the movie “The Golden Compass” we were minutes late but we had no choice but to watch it since we cant afford to wait for the next movie. We had fun watching the movie eeven if it really SUCKED! eheh. I simply like how they did the Polar Care Bears… they rule!. (and did I mention Komiks fell asleep watching the movie? ehehe.) After the movie, we did a bit of Timezoning and had fun (mejo bitin lang talaga… tsktsk).

I was showing something to DJ Tummy…. then she said, “Oh my.. that looks so yummy…”

Chismisan with Icecreams | Saturday Approx. 12:30am
After the movie, We went back to Glorietta tand tried getting back to unfinished Timezoning businesses! bwehehe (adiik) but since we couldn’t get back in, we tried looking for a coffee shop instead but somehow ended up at Icebergs… were looking for beer on the menu… but there weren’t any… wierd… bwehehehehe. we talked stuff and then went home.

Conference with the Bajulas | Saturday Approx. 3:30am
I got home at around 3:00am and quickly went online to set up my torrents. bwehehe. Asura buzzed me. I told her I was about to sleep but we ended up into a conference chat that lasted 30 minutes. eheh. then… I fell asleep..

Sis and the Cramps! | Saturday Approx. 5:00am
My silent slumber was ruined wthen my sister sunddenly screams and everybody was in panic. she was having cramps that usually wakes up the entire neighborhood in the morning… tsktsk. I really need to have her check up soon.

Solo Practice | Saturday Approx. 10:00am
I then woke up far off the wrong side of the bed. A bit moody to talk with family issues and had everyone do their stuff and leave me alone. ehehe. I got online and checked on my mails and saw Atemimi’s line up… alist of songs that we were to perform at the company christmas party… shit… it was so damn long… bwehehe. I then went practicing a bit and decided to contact them.

Jill Store | Saturday Approx. 3:00pm
I then went to Jill’s store and found both Vahn and Jill playing with their faces. bwehehe. They were wearing make up in a market for crying out loud! tsktsk. anyways I had a bit of a chat and went off to Roan’s place.

Silverchair and the Calendar Module | Saturday Approx. 4:00pm
I then went to Silverchair’s place and thought her how to make her own calendar module… She also invited me to go to Claren’s place for her birthday party but I told her that I was coming at Jill’s so can’t come. I then hurried to makati and tried to look for a studio to practice at… tsktsk. I’m out of time…

Studio Hunting | Saturday Approx. 5:00pm
I arrived Glorietta (again) and met with the band. after eating hotdogs we asked around a studio and found nothing. Pipeline had been closed, Perfect pitch no longer has studios for rehearsals, Lazer too was out of studios. We ended up going as far as Kamuning to practice at the Greyhounds’  Blues Family Studio which we practice with Easter. we havent got a good sked so we descided to call it a day and try again the next day… sheesh.
